Frost

This morning I took Newton to the park, where the frost was thick on the grass. Chickadees, sparrows, and an occasional cardinal flitted among tree branches, and a few joggers flitted over trails. But mostly, the park was quiet. Despite the cold and the early hour, I love mornings like this when color has not yet been given to the world.
